‘Avengers: Endgame’ Star Paul Rudd On That Ant-Man/Thanos Theory

Avengers: Endgame star Paul Rudd recently commented on that popular theory about how Ant-Man could have defeated Thanos.

After Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War concluded with Thanos defeating our heroes and using the Infinity Stones to erase half of the population in the universe from existence, fans began speculating on how the survivors could possibly vanquish the Mad Titan and reverse his decimation. One of the most bizarre and popular theories suggested Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man could defeat Thanos by shrinking and entering the Mad Titan’s ass only to become a giant man once inside, thus killing the genocidal villain.

While Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man played a crucial role in defeating Thanos, this theory did not come to pass in Avengers: Endgame. During his appearance on Hot Ones, Avengers: Endgame star Paul Rudd commented on the popularity of the Ant-Man/Thanos theory:

“I consider it a lost opportunity.”

Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 line-up does not include the third installment of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man film series. However, Kevin Feige recently suggest another Ant-Man film with Paul Rudd was in the realm of possibility.

Here is the official synopsis for Avengers: Endgame:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
