See Barry Keoghan Turn Into The Joker In Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’

Would be an epic casting choice!

A new concept design imagines Barry Keoghan transforming into the Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.

Ah, the Joker, is one of the most popular and enduring characters of our time. Each live-action incarnation of the Clown Prince of Crime has practically reinvented the character for audiences. Jack Nicholson’s Joker was an unhinged mid-level criminal with larger aspirations. Heath Ledger’s villain was an anonymous anarchist who despised society’s various establishments. Suicide Squad star Jared Leto portrayed the villain as a high-level, glitzy crime lord who ruled Gotham with an iron fist. And finally, Joaquin Phoenix’s portrayal of the character humanized a man left out of society, confirming that there’s a Joker in all of us.

So, what’s the next iteration of the Joker? Or rather, who will be the next Joker? Rumors have suggested that Barry Keoghan, who most recently appeared in Marvel Studios’ Eternals, is on track to become the anarchist for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. All eyes are on the upcoming DC reboot, which is set to provide audiences with a dark and gloomy take on The Caped Crusader. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, the word on the street is that the Matt Reeves-directed film will hint at Barry Keoghan’s character in the film assuming the role of the Joker.

While fans are excited about Robert Pattinson’s The Dark Knight taking on Barry Keoghan’s Joker, these are still rumors. Of course, rumors present opportunities for artists to create artworks that depict hypothetical scenarios.

Artist Mizuri has done just that by imagining what Barry Keoghan would look like as the Joker for Robert Pattinson’s upcoming stint as The Batman.

Here is the synopsis for The Batman:

Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.

When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
