The classic DC Animated film, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm is now available for streaming on Netflix.
Earlier today it was revealed that several of the animated Batman films would be made available HBO Max. One title that was noticeably missing was the 1993 film, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. As it turned out, it already had a streaming home on Netflix.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was the first standalone film to be produced in the DC Animated Universe. The film was directed by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski and featured the voices of Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as Batman and the Joker. The plot of the film followed a series of murders, perpetrated by an individual known as the Phantasm and dived into Bruce Wayne’s earlier efforts as Batman.
The film, unfortunately, was a box office failure at the time of its release, only grossing $5.8M on a $6M budget. However, the film eventually found a new life on home releases and is widely considered by fans to be one of the best Batman films ever released. Now fans can experience the film once again on Netflix’s streaming service.
