According to a report by Revenge of the Fans, Matt Reeves’ latest draft of The Batman added more action to the DC film.
Fans eagerly awaiting Matt Reeves upcoming Batman film were thrilled to learn that the filmmaker delivered a new draft of the script at the end of 2018 and that Warner Bros. expects the project to begin production in November of this year. Now, Revenge of the Fans has heard that Reeves’ latest draft added more “spectacle” to film than the previous version of the script:
[…] from the sound of it, Reeves has amped up the spectacle a bit. I don’t know what motivated him to bring a little more explosiveness to the proceedings- maybe the studio has loosened the reins on his budget a bit thanks to Aquaman?- but I hear the action quotient for the film will lie somewhere between Se7en and The Dark Knight.
Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film is said to center around a younger Caped Crusader and Matt Reeves has confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic.
The Batman is one of many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films, including The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Birds of Prey, Black Adam, Suicide Squad 2, Nightwing, Supergirl, New Gods, a Deathstroke film, and a Joker origin movie set outside of the DCEU.
