Longtime Batman Producer Comments On Matt Reeves Casting Robert Pattinson

The Batman Matt Reeves Comic-Con

Longtime Batman producer Michael E. Uslan opened up about Matt Reeves casting Robert Pattinson recently at a convention in Germany.

A huge reason why Batman is a cinematic success is because of Michael E. Uslan. The longtime Batman producer has been apart of the franchise since Tim Burton’s 1989 film and continues to serve an executive producer. Michael E. Uslan recently opened up about Matt Reeves’ casting of Robert Pattinson, and said the following at the CCXP Cologne Convention:

“My position is this: trust the filmmaker and give the filmmaker, and the filmmaker’s vision, the benefit of the doubt. Then wait ’til you see the movie. And then once you see the movie, judge the hell out of it. But I think that’s really the formula going forward. I couldn’t be happier, I couldn’t be more enthused, as a Batman fan, that Matt Reeves is the filmmaker in charge and has selected Robert Pattinson to be his next Batman.”

Are you excited to see Matt Reeves’ vision? Do you think Robert Pattinson is a good choice to play Batman? Sound off in the comments below!

While details are slim, The Batman helmer Matt Reeves has confirmed that his project is not based on Frank Miller’s acclaimed Year One comic and will emphasize the hero as the world’s greatest detective more than previous films have in the past. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new movie trilogy with Robert Pattinson.

The DCEU continues with Margot Robbie’s Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) on February 7, 2020, followed by Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984on June 5, 2020. A standalone Joker film set outside of the DC Films universe starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Clown Prince of Crime is also slated to hit theaters October 4, 2019.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman arrives in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news on Ben Affleck, Robert Pattinson and the future of the DCEU.
