The first trailer for Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2 teases The Joker and the transformation of Harvey Dent to Two-Face.

While the first animated rendition of Batman: The Long Halloween might not be out, that hasn’t stopped Warner Bros. and DC from releasing the trailer for its second part. The Long Halloween is one of Batman’s most celebrated comics, and perhaps one of the most well-loved stories of all time. In fact, the comic largely inspired Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, particularly in how it dealt with hot-shot DA Harvey Dent turning into the villainous Two-Face. For those fans who haven’t read The Long Halloween, the two upcoming films should be at the top of their viewing list.

Most DC animated films are stand-alone but Batman: The Long Halloween breaks that tradition by having two animated films out. The comic was a lengthy thirteen parts and it would be a disservice to cram run into one teeny two-hour movie. IGN exclusively revealed the trailer for Batman: The Long Halloween Part 2, which holds a great emphasis on showing off Gotham’s most notorious villains. Some of the villains shown in the trailer include Poison Ivy, Two-Face, and Joker. Currently, there’s no release date for the second film, but it will release after the first one debuts in June.

Here is the synopsis for the original Batman: The Long Halloween comic book series from Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale:

“Taking place during Batman’s early days of crime fighting, this collection tells the story of a mysterious killer who murders his prey only on holidays. Working with District Attorney Harvey Dent and Lieutenant James Gordon, Batman races against the calendar as he tries to discover who Holiday is before he claims his next victim each month. A mystery that has the reader continually guessing the identity of the killer, this story also ties into the events that transform Harvey Dent into Batman’s deadly enemy, Two-Face.”

In addition to Jensen Ackles as Batman, The Long Halloween also features the voice talents of Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent, Billy Burke as James Gordon, Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man, Troy Baker as Joker, Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon, Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent, Jack Quaid as Alberto, Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy, Alastair Duncan as Alfred Pennyworth and the late Naya Rivera as Catwoman. Frances Callier, Greg Chun, Gary Leroi Gray, and Jim Pirri are also on board.
