‘Batman v Superman’ Is The Top Pre Selling Superhero Film On Fandango

Batman v Superman has broken a  huge record before it’s even out!!!

The film DC fans have waited 3 years for is finally in the week of its release and fans are ecstatic. Fan screenings took place last night and the response was over the top. While we still have to wait until tonight’s embargo for critic reviews lift, we have great word of mouth from fans and I think the general audience is taking notice.

Fandango has announced that Batman v Superman pre sales have surpassed any other superhero movies presales on their site. According to Fandango it’s doing 90% of their sales and has out sold the sales of  The Dark Knight, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron and Deadpool. Batman v Superman is on track to make 300 Million+ World Wide on opening weekend.

While,I think it’ll easily break 175 domestically, I ultimately think it’ll come down to Critic and Fan reactions. Fan reactions  from last night were already incredibly positive. I could only spot a few negative Nancy’s on Twitter. What do you guys think? What’s your estimated number? Sound off in the comments below!

Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is Directed by Zack Snyder and will star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor. Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice will hit theaters this Friday March 25th, 2016!

I really hope it gets love from critics. I think it will succeed, financially, especially opening weekend, but for whatever reason critics still move people. I stopped letting that happen to me a long time ago. Does that mean I’ll watch a “stinker” every now and again? Sure. But I feel like I’m not as jaded and that I can just… at least attempt to enjoy ANY movie. All that said… I just want the “validation” from critics to go along with the numbers this thing is going to do.

“Gods of Egypt” was trashed by the critics, probably for politically correct reasons. “Most of the Egyptian gods are white!” I found the film to be excellent entertainment.

I think $170-180M (domestic) should be a bar the movie can clear. It’s Easter weekend, so a lot of kids are out of school on Friday (mine are not), and then a lot of others will be on spring break starting Monday (again, mine are not). All in all, it creates a dynamic that is almost like a summer weekend. I’m still going to assume the movie can’t possibly break $200M in the middle of March, but an R-rated Deadpool did something like $150M over Valentine’s Day, so who knows?

I forgot it was Easter Weekend. Portents for Superman….

I was able to see it last night and this movie is the best Comic Book movie I’ve ever seen! It will make 220 million opening weekend and cross 2 billion overall. I don’t spoil anything but most people think you’ve seen the movie from the preview. You ain’t seen nothing yet! So good! I’ll probably watch it close to 10 times in the theater. I already have tickets for Thursday, Friday and Sunday. I’m guessing there will be many multiple views from people. So amazing. I’ll have a review for it on Thrusday night when my cohost is able to see it. Just search “Buddy Seat” on YouTube!

Those are very high hopes. Unrealistically so, some may say. In fact, that’s what I’m saying. Only one movie has ever opened with over $210M, and that was Episode VII, which did nearly $250M. For this to open at $209M, it would be the second largest opening of all time. And it would be in late March. Shoot for the stars, I guess.

Seeing it in a few days. I’ve never been more excited for a movie ever. I grew up with Supes/Bats/WW and never imagined I’d see them in a movie. I can’t believe the entire DC universe is coming to the big screen. That’s another thing I never imagined, but it’s happening!

Everyone… don’t let ‘critics’ make up your mind for you about BvS (or any movie for that matter). If you are a fan, show support & go see it. If it sucks go ahead and complain. If it’s awesome go ahead and see it again. Don’t be a sheep and let some windbag, self-absorbed troll make a decision for you.

Critics once hated on Rocky in 1976 & Star Wars in 1977… I’ll bet you’re glad you didn’t listen to them, aren’t you?

Be an adult and make your own decisions. “Ohhhhh… Rotten Tomatoes and all of these people who I never heard of before didn’t like the movie some I’m not going to go!”

If you are a regular reader of someone and their track record is solid (case in point Umberto Gonzalez and HH) then clearly that is a different matter altogether. But 99% of these ‘critics’ hating on BvS I have never heard of before and if you are honest, nor have you.

Judge for yourself… the mind is a terrible thing to waste.
