Disney is the one major studio in Hollywood that has guaranteed money in the bank when it comes to their upcoming releases. Obviously, with Marvel, LucasFilm and Pixar under their belt, they are pretty set on whether or not these film’s will make an incredible profit, but one of their best additions to these three branches is their own live-action adaptations of some of their classic films. Cinderella, The Jungle Book and Pete’s Dragon were all terrific re-tellings, and with these three home runs, Disney has earned the benefit of the doubt for their upcoming adaptations.
Based on the internet buzz as well as the nostalgia for the original 1991 animated film, Beauty and the Beast is once again a sure-fire financial hit for the company. The trailers have showcased the incredible imagery that director Bill Condon is bringing to live-action, and just the use of the film’s classic music alongside the aesthetic brings a tear to my eye.
A new TV spot, titled “Charm Her” focuses on the Beast (Dan Stevens) and his attempts to charm Belle (Emma Watson). This TV spot gives viewers a first glimpse at some of the humor that the film will bring, and best of all – features an instrumental version of “Be Our Guest” in the background. You can watch the TV spot down below.
Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.
