Ben Affleck’s Batman Had More To Do In ‘Suicide Squad’, Says Stuntman

Holy extended car chase Batman!

A stuntman on Suicide Squad says Ben Affleck’s Batman had more to do than what was scene in the theatrical cut of the film.

Like the rest of Suicide Squad, it seems there was more cut from Ben Affleck’s Batman in the DC film according to the stuntman who doubled for the star. Fans will remember Batman chased Jared Leto’s Joker and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn as they fled in a Lamborgini through the streets of Gotham, ultimately leading to Harley’s incarceration at Belle Reve. But stuntman Richard Cetrone says that scene was originally a little longer.

The stuntman for Ben Affleck recently spoke to Lady Falcon on YouTube about working on the film and revealed that the scene was longer than what arrived in the Suicide Squad theatrical cut. He explained that he did more during the chase like trying to break into the car in a number of different ways. Richard Cetrone also said he thinks there would be more from Ben Affleck’s Batman in the film if the Ayer cut ever sees the light of day.

“There were some things. I did a little more with the car, like trying to get into the car, trying to get through the roof. So I did a little more. There would probably be a little more of Batman in there.”

Do you think Ben Affleck’s Batman should’ve had more to do in Suicide Squad? Do you want to see the Ayer cut? Sound-off in the comments below!

The first Suicide Squad followed a team of supervillains who were recruited by the government for a dangerous black ops mission in exchange for reduced sentences. The ensemble cast included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jared Leto as The Joker. However, James Gunn is expected to deliver on the fresh take on the team in his upcoming movie.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.

Suicide Squad is available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding Ben Affleck and Batman and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
