Ironhead Studio has unveiled new photos that offer fans a behind-the-scenes look at how Ben Affleck’s cowl was crafted for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Ben Affleck made his first appearance as Bruce Wayne in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While the film itself received mixed reviews, Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the DC Comics hero was praised by many and the costume he wore is often regarded as the most comic-accurate Batman outfit to date.
Last month, Ironhead Studio shared behind-the-scenes photos showcasing the creative process behind the Batman cowl and Ben Affleck’s first costume fitting. Around the same time, the studio unveiled additional images that offer a glimpse at how the cowl was created as well as Ben Affleck’s first cowl movement test.

Of course, Ben Affleck’s time as the Caped Crusader has officially come to an end after just two appearances in Batman v Superman and Justice League as well as a cameo in Suicide Squad. Now, Robert Pattinson will portray the Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’ The Batman and while a previous rumor suggested this incarnation of the character would be a younger version of Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader, this turned out to be false as there will be no connection between the two.
Here is the official synopsis for Batman v Superman:
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Directed Zack Snyder, Batman v Superman stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter.
