‘Justice League’ Stars Ben Affleck & Jared Leto Competing For Worst Supporting Actor At Razzies

Batman v Joker: Dawn of Razzies.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck and Jared Leto are both competing for Worst Supporting Actor as this year’s Razzie awards.

Ah, the Razzies, the chaotic counterpart to the benevolent Oscars. Audiences can expect the Academy Awards to announce this year’s nominations tomorrow, and as tradition suggests, the Razzies announced their nominations today. The nominations absolutely roast some of this year’s cinematic abomination, though they do veer more into bullying and cruelty than just simply poking fun.

A wide variety of films have gotten nominations this year, including Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dear Evan Hansen, Jared Leto’s House of Gucci, and Ben Affleck’s The Last Duel. Call it synchronicity or twisted faith but both Justice League stars Leto and Affleck are competing for Worst Supporting Actor. Who will win? Batman or Joker? Or in this case, is it better if they both lose?

Other notable nominations include former Batwoman star Ruby Rose, who has nabbed herself a Worst Actress nom for Vanquish. Rose is going head to head against Justice League star Amy Adams, who appeared in this year’s maligned but guilty pleasure The Woman In The Window.

Amy Adams, Ben Affleck, and Jared Leto all shared the screen together in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. Here is the synopsis for the film:

“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League is available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and streaming exclusively on HBO Max. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the DC Extended Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
