The Marvel Cinematic Universe is known for its vast array of heroes and villains, but it seems that Marvel Studios is not done with one of its more controversial characters just yet. New photos from the set of Marvel’s Disney Plus series Wonder Man have emerged online, showing Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, a character last seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
In the latest photos from the set of the Wonder Man series, Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery can be seen dressed in regular clothes, a stark contrast from his flashy attire in his previous MCU appearances. You can check out the Wonder Man set photos below.
Trevor Slattery first appeared in Iron Man 3 as a struggling actor who was hired to pose as the terrorist leader known as the Mandarin. The twist in the film revealed that the Mandarin was actually a fake persona created by Aldrich Killian, the true villain of the story. This twist was not well-received by some fans, who felt that the Mandarin had been mishandled in the film.
Despite the mixed reactions to the Mandarin’s Iron Man 3 portrayal, Trevor Slattery has remained a part of the MCU canon. In Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Slattery is shown to be a prisoner of the real Mandarin, a.k.a. Wenwu. He is used as a court jester of sorts, amusing Wenwu with his antics and impressions. Slattery is eventually freed by Shang-Chi and his friends, helping them in their battle against Wenwu and his forces.
