‘Doctor Strange 2’ Concept Art Shows Off Benedict Cumberbatch’s Earth-838 Variant

New concept art from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness focuses on Benedict Cumberbatch.

Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness offered fans a sneak peek at the Illuminati of Earth-838, with the live-action version of the iconic comic book team featuring the likes of Professor X, Mister Fantastic, Captain Marvel, Black Bolt, Baron Mordo and Captain Carter. While the members of the Illuminati were killed off by Wanda Maximoff, Stephen Strange’s Earth-838 variant met his end before the main events of the movie after being corrupted by the Darkhold.

Marvel Studios Visual Development Supervisor Ian Joyner has shared one of his design for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, showing off the Earth-838 variant of Stephen Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch. You can check out the Doctor Strange concept art below.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg and Rachel McAdams. The movie also features appearances from Patrick Stewart, Hayley Atwell, Lashana Lynch, Anson Mount, John Krasinski, Charlize Theron, Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne.

The official synopsis of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reads as follows: “The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.”

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available to own on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. It’s also streaming exclusively on Disney Plus.
