Marvel Studios Releases First Trailer For Benedict Cumberbatch’s ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’

Marvel Studios has released the first trailer and poster for Benedict Cumberbatch’s long-awaited Doctor Strange sequel.

The multiverse is about to break open and Doctor Strange needs all the help he can get. Marvel Studios officially introduced the multiverse in Loki, but the first ramifications of it were explored in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Spidey threequel saw Doctor Strange accidentally opening up the multiverse thanks to a botched spell. And while we won’t discuss the details of what transpired in the Spider-Man film, it’s safe to say the Marvel Cinematic Universe will never be the same again because of the multiverse.

In what was a compelling surprise, the first trailer for benedict Cumberbatch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness first debuted as the post-credits stinger for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

With the film now almost out in cinemas for a week, Marvel Studios has officially released the trailer for the Benedict Cumberbatch sequel online.

With the trailer now out for everyone’s viewing pleasure, Marvel Studios also debuted the first poster for the sequel. The beautiful one-sheet shows Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange in the middle as Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlett Witch hangs on the sides. Wedged between the two is Doctor Strange’s nefarious counterpart: Doctor Strange Supreme.

Benedict Cumberbatch can be seen as Doctor Strange in Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home. Here’s the synopsis:

“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero’s identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.”

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, No Way Home stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, J.B. Smoove, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Benedict Wong, Benedict Cumberbatch, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx, with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
