Bill Foster Suiting Up Is Still ‘On The Table’ After ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp’

Bill Foster Ant-Man And The Wasp

Though Marvel Studios Ant-Man And The Wasp introduced the classic character Bill Foster to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, him being known as Goliath was referenced in name only. But did they discuss having Laurence Fishburne suit up in Ant-Man And The Wasp? Or could we possibly see it happen in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

I spoke with Marvel Studios producer Stephen Broussard at an event promoting the home video release of Ant-Man Of The Wasp and asked about both of those possibilities. His answer might give fans wanting to see Fishburne as Goliath a glimmer of hope.

“Yeah. There was actually. We talked about maybe seeing a flashback when you talked about their shared past and the animosity between Hank and Bill. There were even some ideas kicked around like was there an idea that made sense. Ultimately we couldn’t find a way that didn’t feel stuffed in there. It was too big of an idea. But it’s on the table. What’s great about the MCU is we can go backward in the timeline and explore where people have been as you’ve seen in the Captain Marvel trailer or we can forward. There’s more story to tell with any of these characters and I’d say that certainly applies to Bill Foster.”

Would you like to see Bill Foster suit up as Goliath in the future (or past) of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Share your thoughts on the subject in the comments section below.

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and the Wasp stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Peña as Luis, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Judy Greer as Maggie, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, Hannah John-Kamen as the Ghost, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.

From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant Man and the Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.

Ant-Man And The Wasp is now available digitally and will be released on Blu-Ray and DVD on October 16th.
