The cast of Birds of Prey revealed they would love to see their characters to cross paths with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman.

Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe film series is set to continue this week with Birds of Prey, only the second entry in the franchise to feature women as the lead characters after Gal Gadot’s record0-breaking hit Wonder Woman. While the future of how Warner Bros. and DC plan to proceed with any crossovers is unknown for the time being, it appears the cast of Birds of Prey are more than willing to cross paths with Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman if given the chance.

During an interview with CinePop, the Birds of Prey stars were asked if they would want Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman to join the group. In response, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who portrays Huntress in Birds of Prey, suggested seeing their characters fight Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman:

“I think it would have to be fight with her, right?”

After Black Canary actress Jurnee Smollett-Bell referened her character’s crossovers with Wonder Woman in the comics, Rosie Perez stated that she would prefer to be on the same side as Gad Gadot’s Diana:

“I love Gal Gadot, and just to be in [the same universe as her]. I would be on her team.”

Perez’s comment seemingly prompted Winstead to reverse her stance, noting that the Birds of Prey and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman would likely have some common enemies:

“We’d be going after the same bad guys, so we’d fight together.”

Gal Gadot will reprise her role as Diana Prince in director Patty Jenkins’ long-awaited Wonder Woman 1984. Full details on the Wonder Woman 1984 plot are being kept under wraps, but the film is said to follow Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince as she comes into conflict with a formidable new adversary named Cheetah and Maxwell Lord.

Here is the official synopsis for Birds of Prey:

“You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it. When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her. Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.”

Directed by Cathy Yan from a script penned by Bumblebee writer Christina Hodson, Birds of Prey stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Huntress, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain, Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, and Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn. Ali Wong, Robert Catrini, and Michael Masini have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

Birds of Prey will be released in theaters on February 7, 2020.
