DC Films’ Birds of Prey movie just found its Black Canary and Huntress with Jurnee Smollett-Bell and Mary Elizabeth Winstead cast in the roles respectively, and naturally, the internet has a lot to say about it.
Smollett-Bell was revealed to have been in the running last week, having tested for the role of Black Canary up against Gugu Mbatha-Raw, along with Winstead who landed the job over Margaret Qualley (The Leftovers), and Cristin Milioti (Black Mirror).
Fans were already excited for the upcoming film but after the latest casting additions, it’s fair to say the level of anticipation has gone up a bit. You can check out some of the reactions below.

Now that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is in talks to join #BirdsofPrey I want to know how @edgarwright managed to cast four superheroes and counting in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
