With production on Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) now underway in Los Angeles, CA, fans can finally get a look at Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya.
Academy Award nominee Rosie Perez is bringing Gotham City police detective Renee Montoya to life in Birds of Prey, which is set to hit theaters next year. Now, fans can get a first look at the actress as the iconic comic book character below.
The project sees the return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell joining the DC Extended Universe as Huntress and Black Canary, respectively. Ewan McGregor plays the film’s lead bad guy, Black Mask.
Birds of Prey also stars Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain and Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz. Ali Wong, Steven Williams, Derek Wilson, Dana Lee, Francois Chau, Matthew Willig and Michael Masini round out the cast.
Margot Robbie is producing Birds of Prey alongside Sue Kroll and Bryan Unkeless. The project centers around the titular team of female heroes and villains based on the DC Comics characters and concepts created by Jordan B. Gorfinkel and Chuck Dixon.
