Black Lightning is based on the DC character created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden. The CW series is executive produced by the Arrowverse’s Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Mara Brock Akil, Salim Akil, Oz Scott, and Pascal Verschooris.
In addition to Cress Williams’ Black Lightning, Crisis on Infinite Earths will also feature appearances from Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor and Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman. Brandon Routh will also be reprising his role as Superman, along with Burt Ward who will reprise his Batman ’66 role as Robin.
The upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event has been teased since the very first episode of Grant Gustin’s The Flash, where a newspaper headline from the year 2024 revealed the Barry Allen’s fate was to disappear during a “crisis.” But the fifth season finale of Grant Gustin’s The Flash accelerated this when the original newspaper headline changed the date of the event from 2024 to 2019. To add to this, the seventh season finale of Stephen Amell’s Arrow set up Oliver Queen’s role in the next crossover by having him join the Monitor on a mission to warn other worlds of the crisis, as part of the arrangement Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen made in order to save the lives of both Grant Gustin’s The Flash and Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl.
