Several Marvel games are already in development.

An open-world Black Panther video game is rumored to be in development from EA.

We’ve gotten plenty of AAA games in the last few years based on Spider-Man, the Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Even more Marvel games are on the horizon, with Insomniac notably developing a follow-up to their beloved Spider-Man game and one centered on Wolverine. Another mysterious Marvel game is in the works from Amy Henning and Skydance New Media. According to a new rumor from Jeff Grubb, a Black Panther game is also coming.

Is A Black Panther Game Coming?

Video game insider Jeff Grub recently revealed on the Giant Bomb podcast that ex-Monolith VP Kevin Stephens and EA are in early development on a game centered on Black Panther. The game is said to be an open-world single-player game and where the player takes on the Black Panther mantle, similar to what we’ll see with Wakanda Forever later this year. Black Panther was eventually made a playable character in Marvel’s Avengers with a DLC released last year.

Here is the synopsis for the first Black Panther film:

After the death of his father, the king of Wakanda, young T’Challa returns home to the isolated high-tech African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king – and Black Panther – is tested when he’s drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, he must release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the MCU film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will hit theaters on November 11, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the potential game, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original content.
