Stranger Things and Hellboy star David Harbour has joined Marvel’s Black Widow movie starring Scarlett Johansson.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that David Harbour is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the actor has boarded the cast of the Black Widow movie. Character details are being kept under wraps.

David Harbour is best known for his role as Chief Hopper in the Netflix series Stranger Things. The actor is no stranger to the world of comic books, as he had a small role in 2016’s Suicide Squad and is playing Hellboy in the Neil Marshall-directed reboot that opens later this month.

Lore helmer Cate Shortland is directing Black Widow from a script written by Ned Benson and Jac Schaeffer. Production is expected to begin this June in London with rising actress Florence Pugh also on board alongside Scarlett Johansson and David Harbour.

The Black Widow film is expected to take place before the character’s debut in Iron Man 2. The standalone film has the opportunity to explore the widow program, which would reveal the origin of Black Widow and how she became the formidable assassin she is today
