A special look at Marvel Studios’ upcoming Black Widow movie starring Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff was revealed during a presentation at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA.
This special look at Black Widow gives viewers a first look at how director Cate Shortland is bringing this standalone story for Scarlett Johansson’s beloved character to life. Obviously, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow will be heavily involved with the action.

The camaraderie with Johansson, Pugh and Harbour looks to be eclectic and entertaining. Also, the fight choreography here seems to be the most intense and gritty of any MCU film thus far. #D23Expo

Full plot details on Black Widow are currently under wraps, though it has been revealed that the film is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War and will see Scarlett Johansson’s Nathasha Romanoff take on the villainous Taskmaster. The film will also mark the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Yelena Belova, the second modern-era character to use the Black Widow title in the comics.
Directed by Cate Shortland from a script written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz. Production is currently underway.
