Recent set photos for the upcoming Black Widow solo film tease a 1990s setting for the Scarlett Johansson film.
The Black Widow movie has been shrouded in mystery for some time now. Initially, fans thought that maybe Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow would survive Avengers: Endgame, but now that we know she dies in the movie it’s also confirmed that her solo film will be a prequel.
Many fans have previously speculated that the film could flesh out the early 2000s for the Marvel Cinematic Universe before Black Widow’s introduction in 2010’s Iron Man 2. That could happen with flashbacks similar to the ones we saw in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, recent reports suggest that the film’s events may even predate the 2000s era.
While recent set photos from Black Widow aren’t very action-packed, the timeline for the film may have just been revealed. In the photos, Scarlett Johannson’s Black Widow can be seen standing next to a car in the forest. MCU Cosmic has pointed out that the car is a LADA Niva, model VAS-2131. This type of car was specifically made in the 1990s, something that has caused many to speculate that the film may take place in the same era.
Ιt seems Black Widow fans are going to have a very interesting film to look forward to. Are you excited for the Black Widow solo movie starring Scarlett Johansson? When do you think the film will take place? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below!
