It was my final year of high school when my English teacher introduced me to Ridley Scott’s masterpiece, Blade Runner. Like many, I fell in love with Scott’s fantastic world, rich with life and death. The film, sadly, did not receive incredible reviews when it first hit. The movie under performed, and was ridiculed for its seriousness. However, as time goes by, Scott’s science-fiction drama gained its well-deserved cult status. Following the success of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, it was revealed that Harrison Ford would be reprising his role as Rick Deckard in an upcoming Blade Runner sequel. Arrival‘s Denis Villeneuve will direct the film which is also set to star La La Land‘s Ryan Gosling.
According to TrailerTrack, Blade Runner 2049 is set to drop its first official trailer later today. The film’s official synopsis has been revealed also. Unsurprisingly, the movie sounds legitimately great. The synopsis is below:

Well, how do you guys feel? Personally, I love this idea. Having Gosling portray a young blade runner is fantastic, as his role in Drive showcases the actor’s brilliant range. The synopsis has no mentions of Jared Leto, who is also set to appear in the film in a (presumed) villain role. Be sure to check back to Heroic Hollywood for the official trailer later today!
Blade Runner 2049 is set to hit theatres everywhere on October 5, 2017.
