Booksmart star Kaitlyn Dever recently addressed the rumors that she’s up for the role of Batgirl in the DC Extended Universe.
While many DCEU fans are eagerly awaiting the first look at Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, Booksmart star Kaitlyn Dever commented on the rumors that she might be up to play Batgirl in a future film. It isn’t clear if Matt Reeves is looking to use the Bat-family from the comics in his trilogy of Batman films starring Robert Pattinson, but Booksmart star Kaitlyn Dever revealed that she’d love to play Batgirl on the big screen.
When asked by Variety on the red carpet at the Oscars whether there’s any truth to the Batgirl rumors, Kaitlyn Dever explained that although she hasn’t spoken to anyone about the role, she’d love to don the cape and cowl alongside Robert Pattinson’s Batman. She also went on to praise casting Pattinson in the role, calling him a “perfect” choice for the caped crusader.
“Oh, you know, I’m not gonna deny anything, but I would be down. That’s all I’m saying, yeah. No, there’s nothing going on, I’m just reading all of this stuff and I wouldn’t pass that up, that’s all I’m saying. I think it’s an incredible Batman, I don’t know if there’s controversy over that, I’m not in the news, I don’t watch the news. He’s an amazing actor, perfect Batman in my opinion. That would be sick, that’d be really cool.”
