The LEGO Batman Movie is the first major superhero film to be released this year, and it’s surely shaping up to be a thoroughly entertaining ride. Every single trailer lovingly pokes fun at the caped crusader, and it seems to expand the comedic worlds of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller’s The LEGO Movie quite well with Will Arnett reprising his role as Batman.
Two brand new promotional clips have been released, and the laughs continue to be had. The first clip, simply titled “I’m Batman” features him sharing to the viewers some special pics on his personal (Bat-) smartphone. My personal favorite image features a selfie featuring him, Superman and Wonder Woman. You can check this clip down below.
The third promotional clip, titled “Nerds” is an advertisement for the U.K. tech company Sky. The clip opens with a traditional narration, teasing the significance of Batman – only for Batman to realize that this is actually a promo for the Sky Broadband Tech Team.
The amount of dedication behind the animation for even these promo clips showcase how much love is put into every single LEGO brick. Out of all the superhero films set for release this year, I have a feeling that LEGO Batman is destined to be a guaranteed slam dunk.
In the irreverent spirit of fun that made The LEGO Movie a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
Directed by Chris McKay and starring Will Arnett, Zach Galifianakis, Michael Cera, Rosario Dawson and Ralph Fiennes, The LEGO Batman Movie opens in theaters on February 10, 2017.
