Well, the cast of the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming is shaping up quite nicely. Variety is reporting that former Batman & Academy Award nominee Michael Keaton has entered into early talk to play the film’s villain. While there are no further details regarding the role, recent rumors that hit might just point towards Keaton playing Adrian Toomes aka ‘The Vulture’. However, with ‘The Vulture’ being said to not be the main villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming, I’d lean towards the actor being in talks for another role in the upcoming film.
Perhaps there’s a chance that the role is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Norman Osborn? Personally, I’d love to see him in that role especially due to it meaning that he would be sticking around in the franchise for awhile and bring something special to the role. Especially after the disappointment of how the character was treated in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Let’s not talk about that one.
With production on the film quickly approaching, stay tuned as we should expect to get more details over the next few weeks. If Keaton does sign on for the role he will join Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei & Zendaya in the Jon Watts directed film hitting theaters July 7, 2017.
