Brie Larson’s ‘Captain Marvel’ Launches To Strong First Day Digital Sales On FandangoNOW

Captain Marvel Brie LarsonCaptain Marvel starring Brie Larson is out on digital this week and is already off to a strong start on FandangoNOW, Fandango’s premium on-demand streaming service. After seeing a surge in preorders, the film is now pacing similar to last year’s Black Panther, which is one of the services most purchased titles ever.

FandangoNOW also conducted a survey and found fans are excited to revisit Marvel Studios’ first-ever female-led superhero film at home. The results revealed that 91% of fans are excited to experience Carol Danvers’ origin story at home after Captain Marvel helped to defeat Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. In addition, 60% of fans are planning to revisit the film at home before seeing Spider-Man: Far From Home, which will end Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe this July.

 “Captain Marvel is one of the year’s most entertaining films, and one of the most talked-about Marvel movies ever,” FandangoNOW Managing Editor Erik Davis said. “It’s clear fans want to see lots more of Brie Larson’s high-flying superhero, and are excited to watch all the bonus content, deleted scenes and outtakes, especially after seeing her in Avengers: Endgame.”

All 20 previous films of the MCU are currently among the streaming service’s top 100 selling films. Not only that but all 20 of Marvel Studios’ films saw a spike in sales and rentals on FandangoNOW, after the record-breaking success of Avengers: Endgame at the box office.

3.     Captain America: The First Avenger *

4.     Marvel’s The Avengers *

5.     Avengers: Age of Ultron *
