Academy Award Winner, Brie Larson (Room, Scott Pilgrim vs The World) was announced as Captain Marvel during the Marvel Studios panel at San Diego Comic Con while the Marvel family attempted to take a group shot. Brie Larson was brought out and introduced as the newest member of the family and the first person to don the role of Captain Marvel on screen.
The character of Captain Marvel has gained a bigger spotlight in the last year, not only is she at the front of this year’s blockbuster storyline, Civil War II but she’s also become increasingly popular in the world of comics giving strong female leads a much needed exposure.
