‘Gotham’: Cameron Monaghan’s Joker Looks Terrifying In New BTS Photos

Gotham The Joker Cameron Monaghan

Brand new behind-the-scenes photos from Gotham show Cameron Monaghan’s Joker looking absolutely terrifying.

Even though FOX’s Gotham ended just over a year ago, we can’t help but miss the show’s take on some of the iconic city’s most nefarious characters. Focusing on Jim Gordon’s early days at the Gotham police department, the series delved into the psyche of some of Batman’s most iconic villains like The Penguin and The Riddler. The series also give us a drastically different Joker in the form of Cameron Monaghan. While Monaghan wasn’t at the forefront of the series, his maniacal take on the character is still imprinted in our minds.

These behind-the-scenes photos show off a dark and insidious take on the Joker, one which could give Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck a run for his money. Be sure to swipe right to see all the images of Cameron Monaghan as Joker from Gotham.

While they’re all grotesque and twisted in their own unique way, our absolute favorite still has to be the first one where Cameron Monaghan’s Joker is casually smoking a cigarette. There’s just something sinister about how the fantastic make-up design done on Monaghan  looks in a seedy stairwell, especially while he’s doing something as mundane as smoking. While Monaghan’s take on the character was never called “The Joker” on the show, he will surely go down in the history books.
