A theory regarding a probable rematch between first avenger Captain America and Nazi archnemesis Red Skull on Vormir recently surfaced on Reddit. The theory is based upon the fact that to obtain the Soul Stone, the individual must sacrifice what means the most to him or her. For Captain America, it may well be the confrontation and adversity with Red Skull.
The author backs this theory explaining that political motifs are very well present in the MCU films where writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely and directors Anthony and Joe Russo have made:
With The First Avenger we had Stark’s dad experimenting with genetic modification at the time of Nazis;
With Dark World (I’m guessing before the Robert Rodot rewrites it was less Viking-inspired, less about the familial brotherhood and loss, and more surrounding Thor’s role as a king) showing us international and personal relations at times of war;
With The Winter Soldier we got Stark’s government-surveillance system;
With Civil War we get a glimpse at Stark’s concentration camp for super-soldiers (Peter as a child-soldier? Bucky as shell-shocked veteran? Zemo as the civilian striking back?);
With Infinity War we had an entire universe bending to the wills of an genocidal environmentalist tyrant (Stark’s whole war fought for no reason other than for resource in a distant land, or fears for a weapon of universal destruction);
And now with Endgame the one political motif connecting the ability to travel through and change history is censorship. Frankly, I don’t know how Captain America will feel about that (Stark’s alternate realities). But if Cap loses his sense of “being a good man” and allows reality to be altered, then he is allowing history to change, and for someone like Stark or Thanos to do what they feel is right. That would also kill his soul.
This theory sheds new light to what’s been in the rumor mill for a while now regarding Captain America’s involvement and transcendence in the final events in the movie. With Chris Evans’ movie deal with Marvel Studios ending with Avengers: Endgame, people have been speculating that he will sacrifice himself to get the Soul Stone.

Here’s Every Hero Who Appears In The ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Trailer
Today, Marvel Studios released the first official trailer for Avengers: Endgame and revealed which heroes will likely be on hand for the re-match against Thanos.
Avengers: Infinity War united nearly every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the showdown with Thanos and after a decade of films that proved to be an extensive roster. However, the Marvel Studios epic concluded with Thanos succeeding in his mission to acquire the Infinity Stones and use their power to erase half of the universe’s population, with many of the aforementioned heroes being included among the casualties. Fortunately, the original Avengers teammates survived Thanos’ decimation and it appears they will be joined by a few the new heroes who debuted since the group initially formed when they head into the second showdown with Thanos.

Ant-Man
After the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp, many were theorizing that the Avengers would have to rescue Scott Lang from the Quantum Realm and subsequently use the alternate dimension to travel back in time to defeat Thanos. While it appears Scott Lang managed to escape on his own, he may have brought the van containing the way to the Quantum Realm to the Avengers’ front door.
Bruce Banner
While the Hulk was absent from the first Avengers: Endgame trailer, Bruce Banner managed to make a brief appearance. The brilliant scientist could be seen assessing the list of casualties of Thanos’ decimation and it has clearly taken an emotional toll.
