‘Captain Marvel’ Writer Not A Fan Of Brie Larson’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Haircut

Avengers Endgame Captain Marvel Brie Larson

It seems that Captain Marvel writer Kelly Sue DeConnick isn’t a fan of the haircut that Brie Larson had for Carol Danvers in Avengers: Endgame.

Captain Marvel showed us, for a lack of a better word, a rough version of Carol Danvers. As you might recall, Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers sported long hair for her first full feature film despite the character having short hair in the comics for a while now. Joe and Anthony Russo and Marvel Studios decided to correct this hairstyle during Avengers: Endgame after the five-year jump in the film. Even though many fans were really happy to see Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers with comic-accurate look, it seems that Captain Marvel comic book writer Kelly Sue DeConnick wasn’t a fan of the haircut.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, DeConnick and Captain Marvel producer Mary Livanos expressed their concern while the interviewer brought up Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers getting her comic-accurate haircut in Avengers: Endgame. They actually revealed that they weren’t happy with it:

DeConnick: “Agggghhhh the hair! All right, go ahead.”

Livanos then added that they had nothing to do with that decision:

“Were not involved in the decision making about her hair.”

DeConnick then said that it wasn’t her real comic-accurate haircut:

“And I would fight you for calling that her real haircut. We’re pistols at dawn, you and I.”

Whoa! Is it possible we could see Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers with another new haircut in the future? It seems that if it were up to Livanos and DeConnick, it would be a resounding yes to that question. Nevertheless, there will be a few Marvel Studios films before we see Captain Marvel again. A Black Widow standalone film is currently in production and Marvel Studios is also working on a feature focusing on the Eternals, which will begin filming later this year.
