‘Captain Marvel’ Easter Egg May Be Connected To The First ‘Avengers’ Film

The latest Captain Marvel trailer featured an Easter egg that may confirm a connection to the first Avengers film.

During the new trailer for Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers and Nick Fury are seen stealing a Quinjet that features the P.E.G.A.S.U.S. logo. Fans may remember that Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. was the name of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s secret operation of studying the Tesseract, which took place in a facility located in the Mojave Desert.

With Captain Marvel being partly set in Los Angeles and the Mojave Desert located in southern California, there is a solid chance that Danvers and Fury are visiting the same facility that Loki will infiltrate in the first Avengers film. This could indicate that the Skrulls could be in search of the Tesseract, which fans now know contains one of the Infinity Stones.

Do you think this is the same facility seen in The Avengers? Share your thoughts below!

Based on the Marvel comic character first appearing in 1968, the story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.  Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.

Captain Marvel will be released in theaters on March 8, 2019.
