According reactions from Captain Marvel test screenings, Carol Danvers’ cat Goose steals the show.
Right when Goose was first shown in the Captain Marvel trailer not long ago, some parts of the internet where swept away of how cute the cat was. Well, it seems that Goose also steals the show from Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. According to Collider’s Editor-in-Chief Steven Weintraub, people who saw screenings of the movie raved on about Goose and how they loved the character.

For those of you who don’t know, Goose is actually inspired by Chewie the cat, Captain Marvel’s pet in the comics. The cat’s new name is a homage to the classic Tom Cruise flick Top Gun. If directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck do justice to his character, then Goose is also part of an alien race called Flerken, which resemble Earth cats but have a lot of tentacles spewing out of their mouths. There are already theories suggesting that Nick Fury lost his eye to Goose in some way.
