SPOILER WARNING: The following article reveals the role in which Jude Law will play in Captain Marvel.
Marvel’s upcoming new film Captain Marvel will be the last film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that will debut before the highly-anticipated fourth Avengers film debuts in theaters. The titular heroine will also be seen in that film, but we will first see her origin story before she joins the survivors of Thanos’ snap.
We have only seen one teaser trailer for Captain Marvel thus far and have had a brief glimpse at two-time Academy Award nominee Jude Law in his role. No official details about his role have been revealed yet, but a toy leak featuring the upcoming Funko Pop! Vinyl Figure line for Captain Marvel reveals the identity of his character.
First Look at Captain Marvel Funko Pops! Leaked! from marvelstudios
This Funko leak shows off the figure that resembles Law’s suit seen in the trailer. The figure’s box is labeled as “Yon-Rogg”.
In the comics, Yon-Rogg is a member of the Kree and serves as a military commander who has jealousy of the accomplishments of others and harbors love for the medic Una. The comics portrays Yon-Rogg as a villain to Captain Marvel, although Law’s role was previously described to be a mentor and commander to Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) in the Starforce.
Law was reportedly tapped to play Mar-Vell/Walter Lawson.
