The first trailer for Captain Marvel featured plenty of awesome imagery, including the logo for the film, but now that logo has been re-designed to really make it pop off the screen.
During film production, any number of things can change in a second, even on a big-budget studio film. The journey to crafting the perfect film takes a long time whether it’s having to make changes to a costume, shooting location, the script, or even cast members in some cases. Fans who watched “The Making Of” docs on the 2008 Iron Man DVD know what kind of huge changes can happen during production. Today, Marvel is still making changes to films even after releasing the trailer, like Captain Marvel, but in a much more subtle way.
Various films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have gone through several logo re-designs before actually hitting theaters. The latest film to do this is the upcoming Captain Marvel, which is currently slated for release in March 2019, only a couple of months before the release of Avengers 4. Though it isn’t a super insane departure from the original logo design, it’s certainly effective. Check out the image below to see the new logo for yourself.
Captain Marvel will be the studio’s first period-piece origin film since 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger. As opposed to First Avenger‘s World War II setting, Captain Marvel will instead be leading her band of Kree warriors during the ’90s, as made very apparent in the first teaser trailer. The film will also feature the studio’s heaviest use of de-aging technology yet, as characters like Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) will be digitally altered to appear more like themselves from twenty years ago.
After debuting in her solo film, Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) will then soon return to the MCU for Avengers 4, as teased in the post-credits scene for Avengers: Infinity War. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Captain Marvel as more information becomes available. What are your thoughts on the new logo? What has you most excited about the film?
