Captain Marvel Phil Coulson Clark Gregg

Captain Marvel will introduce to Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers to the MCU, but the long-awaited film will also allow audiences to follow younger versions of Nick Fury and Phil Coulson before the events of Iron Man. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Captain Marvel executive producer Jonathan Schwartz offered fans a hint at what to expect from Agent Coulson in the film.

Jonathan Schwartz noted audiences will witness Coulson’s first meeting with Nick Fury and commented on how the creative team did not have to worry about future events in the agent’s life:

“The great part about it is we just get to focus on him as he is so we don’t need to worry about the stuff he’s going to encounter later. There’s lots of fun parallels I’m sure. But we get to see Coulson in his first meeting with Nick Fury at a much younger age where the Kree aren’t even part of his vocabulary yet.”
