Carrie-Ann Moss Cast in ‘Iron Fist’

Marvel’s Jessica Jones was yet another surprise hit that produced by Netflix. Just as Daredevil, the show dealt with some very mature subjects not usually seen on shows/films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While many focused on the core characters like Jessica Jones, Kilgrave, and even Luke Cage, one standout was cutthroat lawyer Jeri Hogarth who played by Carrie-Anne Moss. She played such a headstrong and ambitious character, even as her personal life was crumbling during the first season. There’s no doubt that her character will return for season two of Jessica Jones. She even had the opportunity to reprise the role for a one-off episode of Daredevil season two offering another fan favorite Foggy Nelson a job with her law firm. Like Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, it seems as though Jeri Hogarth will be active in other shows within the “Defenders” Universe as well.

It has just been announced that Carrie-Anne Moss will be reprising her role as Jeri Hogarth in the next Marvel/Netflix original series Iron Fist. In the comic books, Hogarth was an attorney for the Rand estate and helped Iron Fist character, Danny Rand, when he returns to New York from K’un L’un. It seems that her role on the TV show will be similar to the role in comics as per showrunner Scott Buck.

“Danny Rand lives in the highest stratosphere of New York’s business society and he’s going to need a ruthless lawyer to help him navigate this alien world. I’m very happy to have the opportunity to bring Carrie-Ann Moss as Jeri Hogarth into Marvel’s Iron Fist.”

Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb also comments on joining Iron Fist.

“Carrie-Anne has fast become a fan-favorite part of our street level saga, and we share our viewers’ excitement in bringing her into ‘Marvel’s Iron Fist.’ As Marvel fans know, Hogarth in the comics plays a critical role in the life of Danny Rand so it seems only fitting that Carrie-Anne join in.”

Carrie-Anne Moss joins Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, David Wenham, Jessica Stroup, and Tom Pelphrey for Iron Fist. There is no confirmed release date for the Netflix show.

I am dying for the rest of The Defenders series to come out. The amount of time they have to devote to these characters make the Netflix offerings from Marvel that much better. Hopefully we will get official word on the other characters who will be getting similar treatments.
