It’s been a sad week and holiday season for fans of Carrie Fisher. On Christmas day last week, it was reported that the Star Wars actress was in stable condition, but then died two days later from cardiac arrest. A day after, her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds was taken to the hospital after suffering from a stroke. She passed away that same night. Fisher was 60 and Reynolds was 84.
The mother and daughter will have a joint funeral and will be buried together at Forest-Lawn Hollywood Hills, according to Todd Fisher, son and brother to Reynolds and Fisher, respectively.
Reynolds and Fisher were preparing for Carrie’s funeral arrangements when the elder suffered a stroke. Todd Fisher said that Carrie’s death was too much for Reynolds to handle. “She said, ‘I want to be with Carrie.’ And then she was gone.”
On December 29, Todd posted a beautiful tribute to his late mother and sister using the lyrics from the “Singin’ in the Rain” movie, which Reynolds starred in. They go like this: “What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again.”
This is a beautiful love story to witness in my 58 years. I miss them both so much. Love is everlasting pic.twitter.com/AeIVGaGl9k
