Cars 3 shocked Pixar fans around the world with a controversial teaser showing Lightning McQueen’s disturbingly-realistic car crash, and since then the discussion around the film has gone from “Why are they making another Cars movie?” to “What’s going to happen to Lightning?” A new international trailer highlights how McQueen recovers after the accident, his relationship with one of his biggest fans, and how he plans to return to complete one last race.
A quick word of warning: this trailer is entirely dubbed in Japanese without subtitles. Unless you’re fluent in the language, you’ll probably only get to enjoy the visuals.

But Lightning isn’t ready to throw in the towel yet, and with the help of another rookie – Cruz Ramirez (Cristela Alonzo) – the old dog is going to learn some new tricks and attempt a comeback in the Florida 500.
