Chadwick Boseman On ‘Black Panther’ Teaser & Talks ‘Avengers 3’ Cast

Chadwick Boseman Captain America Civil War Black Panther T'Challa

Black Panther will reunite audiences with the titular hero in his home nation of Wakanda and the first trailer for the film offered fans a glimpse at the new corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reactions to the trailer were overwhelmingly positive and lead actor Chadwick Boseman shared in the enthusiasm after the preview made it’s debut. In an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Boseman shared his reaction to the Black Panther trailer and talked about the large cast of Avengers: Infinity War.

Chadwick Boseman revealed that he was so impressed by the Black Panther trailer that he had to shut off his phone to avoid being inundated by congratulatory phone calls:

“It was so exciting. I literally, for like three minutes, was like, ‘oh my gosh.’ Just staring at the screen and then I cut my phone off because it was too much stimulation.”

When asked which members of the Avengers: Infinity War cast he has seen on set, Chadwick Boseman revealed he usually see’s about eight or nine at a time but would only confirm one name:

“The one I can say is Mark Ruffalo.”

Chadwick Boseman added that the next Avengers film will not introduce new superheroes to the team:

“No. No new characters. All the same ones.”

You can watch both portions of the interview in the videos below!

Do you buy Chadwick Boseman’s claim that no new heroes will be introduced in Avengers: Infinity War? After Scarlett Johansson teased a scene with more than 30 characters, I would imagine the creative team behind the film already have their hands full with the current team. “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke,  Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kan.

Black Panther will be released in theaters on February 16, 2018.
