Marvel fans are worried about Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman after he posted a video showing a significant weight loss.

Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman recently posted a video on Instagram causing fans to be a little worried about his health, since the actor looked like he’d lost a significant amount of weight since the last time he appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the video, Boseman speaks about supporting Thomas Tull’s Operation 42, which is donating $4.2 million in personal protective equipment to hospitals supporting African American communities through the coronavirus pandemic.

Fans immediately noticed that Boseman had seemingly lost a considerable amount of weight in the video, which the star recorded on April 15. Some explained that they felt emotional looking at the star, while others made jokes about his weight loss compared to his role as T’Challa.

Hopefully, the star is preparing for a role requiring him to be slimmer than the muscly figure he’d built for his role in the MCU. For now, Chadwick Boseman is set to return as T’Challa in the yet-to-be titled Black Panther sequel.

Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 6, 2022. In the meantime, fans can re-watch the first film on all home media formats:

Marvel Studios “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Directed by Ryan Coogler from a script he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Sterling K. Brown, Florence Kasumba, John Kani, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.

Black Panther is now available on Digitial HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD.
