Chris Evans wished his Avengers co-star Robert Downey Jr. a happy birthday by sharing a photo on Twitter.

Last year, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. both bid farewell to their respective roles as Captain America and Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame. The film saw both stars battle the Mad Titan Thanos alongside the entire slate of Marvel heroes which served as a fantastic climax to the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Avengers: Endgame also served as the final film where Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evan’s interacted with one another’s characters. Their on-screen relationship began with 2012’s The Avengers, where they also united with fellow Marvel heroes played by Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth.

Seeing as this Robert Downey Jr.’s first birthday post-Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans took it upon himself to wish the Iron Man star a very happy birthday. Chris Evans took to Twitter to celebrate Robert Downey Jr.’s 55th birthday with a cheeky reference and photo.

The photo posted by the Captain America star shows both him and Robert Downey Jr. posing in front of the iconic “A” symbol, which can be found on the Avengers campus. After 2012’s The Avengers, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. appeared on screen together for all the following team-up films. Their most notable appearance was in Captain America: Civil War, wherein which both of their characters were in contention with one another for numerous reasons.
