Extraction star Chris Hemsworth celebrates after Netflix announced the film is its most popular original film.
After the recent news from Netflix that Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction is the most popular original film on the streaming service, the star took to Instagram to celebrate all the hard work that went into the gritty action thriller. Extraction was streamed 99 million times within its first four weeks of release on Netflix, beating other original films like Bird Box and Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman to the top spot.
Most recently, Avengers director Joe Russo discussed Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction sequel, teasing that the script he’s writing will raise the stakes both physically and emotionally for the hero. Since Russo is still working on the script and with the ongoing pandemic still affecting the industry, it’s not clear when the Extraction sequel will arrive on Netflix. But the star took the time to celebrate the Netflix original film by posting a screenshot of the Deadline article announcing the news, explaining in the caption that he can’t thank fans enough for supporting the thriller.
