With the contracts of several key cast members set to expire after Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled sequel, audiences are preparing to bid farewell to a number of fan-favorite characters after their showdown with Thanos. Among the actors who could potentially be retiring from their superhero roles for good is Chris Hemsworth, although the Thor star recently stated that he is open to returning in the role under the right circumstances during an interview with Australia’s Sunrise.

Thor actor Chris Hemsworth revealed that while the next two Avengers films may be his final time playing the God of Thunder, he would consider returning in the future if the right script came along:

“Well, my contract’s coming to an end. We’ve just finished the last two Avengers. Who knows what the future holds. You know, we felt like we kind of reinvented that last one in a big way. It felt refreshed and re-energised. So, we might have a conversation if there’s another great script that comes along. But at the moment that’s it.”

Chris Hemsworth will return to the big screen for what may be Thor’s penultimate adventure in Avengers: Infinity War.

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L.
