Chris Hemsworth’s fourth cinematic solo outing as Marvel’s God of Thunder is titled Thor: Love and Thunder. The film is slated to hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
Taika Waititi is back in the director’s chair, with Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman returning as Valkyrie and Jane Foster, respectively. The film is based on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor run, with Jane Foster set to become the new Thor.

Despite Taika Waititi shifting his focus back to Thor with Chris Hemsworth, Warner Bros. reportedly still wants to move forward on his Akira movie after he completes Thor 4. Akira has been in development since Warner Bros. first acquired the option to produce a live-action remake of the property back in 2002.
As for Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, the actor previously revealed he would very much be interested in joining James Gunn’s next Guardians of the Galaxy movie. The end of Avengers: Endgame saw Thor seemingly paired up with the Guardians for their next adventure, something that spawned the theory that the film would take its name after the Asgardians of the Galaxy comic series. Gunn has since confirmed that this will not be the case for the highly anticipated third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.
Chris Hemsworth can currently be seen as Thor in Avengers: Endgame. Here’s the official synopsis for that movie:
The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers:Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow and Josh Brolin.
