A new image of one of the Thor: Love and Thunder Marvel Legends action figures offers a better look at Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in what appears to be Ravager garb.
Earlier set photos had shown Chris Hemsworth in this more casual outfit, reminiscent of the character of Thunderstrike in the comics – the Thor-like alter ego of Eric Masterson, who had previously been merged with the thunder god. While many fans had assumed that this look would simply be a civilian guise for Thor, the action figure packaging names this design “Ravager Thor.” Love and Thunder picks up after Endgame, which saw Thor leaving Earth with the Guardians of the Galaxy, so it appears his new outfit comes courtesy of Star-Lord’s old allies, the Ravagers.
Plot details for Thor: Love and Thunder are scarce, with fans still waiting on a first trailer, so little is known of exactly where the film will find Thor. It could be that his Ravager look is a sign that he has taken to a full-time role with the Guardians, or even gone to work with the Ravagers themselves on some of their less-than-legitimate galactic endeavors. Check out the new image below:
There are certainly notes of Star-Lord’s style in the outfit, possibly suggesting Thor is borrowing clothes from his new captain. The costume is completed by a note of Thor’s heritage, with what appears to be a depiction of Yggdrasil from Norse mythology, encompassing the Nine Realms.
Directed by Taika Waititi from a script he co-wrote with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Christian Bale, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Jeff Goldblum. Matt Damon, Sam Neill, Luke Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Ben Falcone, and Russell Crowe are also on board.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released on July 8, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the Thor sequel leading up to its release, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
