Chris Pratt Confirms Improv Moment In ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy’

Chris Pratt confirmed one of the humorous “mistakes” in Guardians of the Galaxy was actually improvised.

Last night, James Gunn participated in an online Guardians of the Galaxy watch party hosted by ComicBook.com during which he revealed pieces of information about the film. During the scene in which Star-Lord presents the orb to The Collector and drops it, James Gunn revealed that while he initially believed this was an accident on Chris Pratt’s part and they decided to use that take anyway, the filmmaker recently learned from the actor that this moment was actually improvised.

In response, Chris Pratt himself confirmed that he dropped the orb on purpose without asking ahead of time because it is “better to ask forgiveness than permission.” As Chris Pratt explained, he learned this lesson from his time working on Parks and Recreation, during which he damaged many things on set.

Check out Pratt’s post below.

James Gunn and Chris Pratt will reunite for the third chapter of the Guardians of the Galaxy film series. While production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was scheduled to begin early this year, the project was put on hold following Disney’s decision to remove James Gunn as the director of the final chapter in the trilogy. Now, Gunn will begin production on the third Guardians of the Galaxy film after completing work on The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC. Details on the third chapter of James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy are currently unknown, though the film will likely explore the ramifications of the universe-changing events in Avengers: Endgame.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to star Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, and Sean Gunn.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as it develops!
