Chris Pratt Says ‘Jurassic World 2’ Will Be Darker & Scarier

Jurassic World Universal

Chris Pratt is busy doing press for his Marvel projects with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 releasing very soon and Avengers: Infinity War on the horizon, but we shouldn’t forget about the other beloved franchise that he is the star of. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything concrete about the sequel to Jurassic World, but Pratt is confident in his director. At a press junket for Guardians Vol.2, Pratt was asked what he was allowed to reveal about Jurassic World 2 and said:

Aw man, J.A. Bayona? Do you know that filmmaker? He’s a remarkable filmmaker. If you haven’t seen The Impossible or A Monster Calls, I mean he’s really visually masterful. Deep emotions and suspense. I think it’s going to be a scarier version. A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn’t have imagined.

As much as I enjoyed Jurassic World, I think there were opportunities for more thriller and horror types of scenes. Despite the strange rumors that suggest dinosaurs will be wielding firearms in the sequel, I am very interest in the future of the franchise, especially with Pratt taking centerstage.

Are you pleased with a darker and scarier direction for Jurassic World? Let us know what you want in the sequel in the comments.

The untitled Jurassic World sequel is set to release on June 22, 2018.
