Christian Bale Has Not Seen Ben Affleck’s Portrayal Of Batman

'The Dark Knight' trilogy star Christian Bale reveals that he has not seen Ben Affleck's portrayal of Batman in the DC Extended Universe films.

Although Christian Bale’s performance as Bruce Wayne / Batman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy remains one of the best portrayals of the DC Comics hero in the eyes of many, fans probably shouldn’t expect to see the Academy Award-winning actor return to the superhero genre in the future. During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Bale stated that he is not a fan of superhero films and revealed that he has not seen Ben Affleck’s portrayal of the Caped Crusader.

Bale admitted he was interested in seeing Affleck’s take on Batman but explained that he has not seen many of the latest superhero films, including the Avengers movies:

“I have not [seen Ben Affleck’s Batman]. Yes I’m interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested, but then I realized he just wanted to see the trailer and that was it—I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see. I have to confess I’m not a huge superhero film fan. People seem surprised at that, I don’t know why. I’ve not seen any of the Avengers films or any of those films at all. I hear they’re very good, but I’m quite happy just hearing they’re very good.”

You can watch Ben Affleck as Batman in Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Amber Heard, Jeremy Irons, J.K. Simmons, Connie Nielsen, Julian Lewis Jones and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League is now playing in theaters!
